1. Set up Jira bot

Bot for Jira is set for the whole Slack workspace of CheIT, so this is going to be super simple.

1.1 Go to search bar, type Jira, and choose the app.

1.2 What you need to do, it is to simply log in.

1.3 After clicking the Log In button, you will be automatically redirected to Slack to give the bot necessary permissions to function properly. Just allow the bot do its job;)

1.4 Then you are redirected to Atlassian, to log in to Jira.

1.5 As soon as you logged in to your Atlassian account – you’re all set.

2. Configure Jira bot

When you go back to Slack, your chat with the bot will reflect all the tasks that you are assigned to, and the ones you are watching.

2.1 Click on Personal Notifications, to adjust notifications to your liking.

2.2 In the pop-up window chose the right Atlassian site – cheitgroup.atlassian.net

2.3 As for when – you can select options that are suitable for you, but the most suitable options not to be over flooded with notifications would be:

• You’re the assignee for the issue

• Someone mentions you

Don’t forget to hit ‘Submit’ in the end;)

When any settings are changed, you should get a notification in the Messages section of the chat.

Now, you can rest assured to be notified about everything important, you will get all the notifications in the Messages section later on.

In case you need to adjust any settings, you can do that in the Home tab, for reviewing notification or using bot’s commands use Messages tab.
